To create a new project, click the "New Project" button on your dashboard. Enter a title for your book when prompted. Once created, you can start adding scenes and chapters immediately. You can always edit your project title later from the dashboard or at the top of the editor page.
Scenes are the smallest building blocks of your story - individual moments or events. Chapters are collections of scenes grouped together. You can organize multiple scenes into chapters to create a structured narrative flow.
Scrivla automatically saves your work every few seconds as you type. You'll see a "Saving..." indicator in the editor. Your content is stored securely in the cloud, so you can access it from any device.
Our AI analyzes your scenes to identify which characters appear in each one. Simply select a scene and click "Detect Characters" - the AI will scan the text and create a character list for that scene, helping you maintain consistency throughout your story.
Yes! The AI Writing Assistant can help generate ideas, expand on scenes, or suggest dialogue. Select a scene, choose your preferred AI model, and provide prompts for what you'd like help with. Remember, the AI is a tool to assist your creativity - you remain the author.
The AI summarization feature is highly accurate for capturing key plot points and character actions. It's particularly useful for reviewing long chapters or getting quick overviews of your scenes. You can always edit the summary to better match your vision.
Scrivla offers multiple AI models optimized for different tasks. Go to Settings > AI Models to see available options. Use faster models for quick tasks like summarization, and more advanced models for complex writing assistance. You can switch between models per task.
Scrivla currently supports exporting to EPUB 3 format, which works with e-readers like Kindle, Kobo, and most mobile reading apps. PDF and DOCX export are currently in development and testing — we hope to release them soon!

Yes! Use the Import feature to bring in existing manuscripts from Word documents, Markdown files, or plain text. The system will preserve your formatting and organize content into scenes and chapters automatically.
Create a series from your dashboard by clicking "New Series" and entering a series name. Then, when creating or editing a project, select your series from the dropdown. This helps you organize your books into collections, making it easier to manage related works and keep your library structured.
Version control lets you save different iterations of your manuscript. Click "Versions" in your project to create manual saves or view automatic version history. You can compare versions and restore previous drafts if needed.
Check your spam or junk folder first. If you still don't see it, wait 5-10 minutes as emails can sometimes be delayed. You can request a new verification email from your account settings. Make sure you're using a valid email address.
Go to Account Settings and click "Enable 2FA". You'll need a authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy. Scan the QR code with your app, then enter the 6-digit code to complete setup. Save your backup codes in a safe place!
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link valid for 24 hours. Follow the link and create a new secure password. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.
To delete your account, go to Account Settings and scroll to the bottom where you'll find "Delete Account". This action is permanent and will remove all your projects and data. We recommend exporting your work first using the Export feature.

Yes! Scrivla works on mobile browsers, though some advanced features work best on desktop. The mobile interface is optimized for reading and light editing. For the full experience, we recommend using a computer.
Check that your image files are under the size limit (typically 5MB). Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and GIF. Try using a different browser or clearing your cache. If problems persist, the image may be corrupted - try re-saving it.
